"We are NOT puppets; We ARE Free!" Meaning, that just because we're Christian, does not mean we are bound up. We are just as creative! .... Contradictory to this, my heart is crying... But no tears fall.
This. I've felt pressured to include God or Christianity in all of my works, because God is supposed to be the center of our existence and Who we dedicate all our works to.
Then I had a realization... There is a God in all my stories, even those based around true pagan pantheons and outlandish fantasy/scifi concepts. That God is the author who loves all his characters good or bad, who wants to see them happy and virtuous, who wants to resolve all the conflicts and restore peace by the end of the story. When I write, using my own settings and my own characters and my own concepts, I may be closer to God than ever I am otherwise.
Hope that doesn't sound sacrilegious. It probably does. I know it's not the most humble thing to compare oneself to God... But understand that's not really what I mean. In any case, God is a much better Author than I'll ever be.
I know what you mean. Don't worry. I've had that feeling before but now I'm just free in my art. I guess we'll always be pressured to have our art relate to God but He gave use the gift of creativity for a reason: to be free in our own expression.
Again, I understand what you mean! ^U^ It's fun to write characters and plots since you can control them and all. As long as you recognize what you thought, your heart is still in a good place.
And yes, God is the Master Artist. But hey, it shouldn't stop an artist from pursuing even just a tiny bit of His artistic perfection!
Yeah... Sorry about that. I liked the color so I didn't bother to change it. That's why I wrote the quote in descriptions... Glad you liked it still though!
