Forced to look back: FriendsIt never occurred to me back then that I might not see most of my friends ever again. I had just naively smiled beside them and never gave a single thought of the future riches and freedoms and opportunities I would behold. I remember the smiles on their bruised faces, the bruises they received from early child labor. I would always watch them work, willing to help out even if I was small at the time and too young, always watch them carrying long logs, cement blocks, bags of chicken or cow feed, and anything heavy that could break their precious backs. Because my mom was a nurse and father being somewhat of an inventor, the money they immediately received went directly to me and my the rest of the household family. I was provided for, but I did not know to what extent... I wonder if they envied me from the bottom of their hearts... They never did say anything, but still. Forced to look back: OriginA deep sigh escapes from my lips. I look up at the dark sky that's been dotted with sparkling balls of energy and made complete with a giant, white dot that's made of dusty rock. How long has it been since I felt at peace like this? Another sigh is heaved out from my distressed system.
Ever since I had been brought along to the top class, I've been to forced to look back. Forced to look back at where I came from. I was born in a poor environment that didn't deserve more if not any turmoil. The people around my neighbor were extremely nice and caring, and I made friends in a blink of an eye. Albeit us being children, we knew that soon we had to face hardships if our lives continued like this. We understood that childhood won't be as pure and naive for as long as we wanted it to be... But, I was the fortunate one.
The icy cold breezes swished past me, and I shivered. My dark, furry-hooded sweater wasn't enough protection from the merciless October winds. Reluctantly tearing my eyes

So the day Jose Rizal died was the day Russia was born?
